You are all aware of the terrible situation in Ukraine and the suffering of so many people there, not to mention the unnecessary deaths and casualties. It is hard for us to accept that such events are taking place in Europe in the 21st century and nobody knows quite how this situation is going to end. Please continue to pray for the people of the Ukraine, for the refugees and Ukrainians here who have family suffering in their homeland.

I have asked him if there is any particular charity we could support to help the people of Ukraine and he tells me that the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church together with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the UK and other Ukrainian organisations have formed a special emergency appeal for the people of the Ukraine.

The UK Government has a webpage of advice and information. In particular, you can apply to be a sponsor to accommodate refugees. The Government has matched £25m of donations to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Appeal.
Reset Communities and Refugees is a non-profit organisation set up in 2018 to help communities welcome refugees. They are now supporting civil society organisations and the UK Government to find suitable accommodation for people fleeing the conflict in Ukraine, by helping refugees from Ukraine and sponsors across the UK to register and be matched.
