Members of the Ordinariate, the diocesan congregations in Eastbourne and a number of Anglican churches undertook an ecumenical pilgrimage to Walsingham 16–18 September 2011.
Fr Neil led six members of the Group to the National Shrine’s 2011 Pilgrimage in which the Anglican Shrine played a major part. The pilgrimage liturgies were led by the Ordinary, Mgr Keith Newton PA. The Church in England & Wales commemorates the Assumption of Our Lady tomorrow, and Mass will be celebrated according to Divine Worship at 11:30am at Christ the King Church Langney. We’d love to see you! The pew sheet is available at the link below. To mark the difference from “green” Sundays and celebrate the Solemnity, we’re using the Missa de Angelis, the music for which is in the printed Mass booklets.
And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant and ... gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne, and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God. We’re serving bacon butties after Mass on Sunday, to extend the fellowship and have the opportunity to bid farewell to Fr John, who is returning to Nigeria.
Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, ‘Lord, save me.’ Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, ‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?’ And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
