The angel of God stays Abraham’s hand, and the story points forward to Christ’s sacrifice through whom the promise to bless all the nations will find its ultimate fulfilment.
The sacraments are the place where we can seek out Christ, beg his mercy and receive his touch of healing and restoration in the body of Christ.
Our Lord speaks with profound authority, not through the loudness of his voice or the manner of his presentation, but because he speaks as Son of the Father — as God himself.
How we need to hear these sage words of Our Lady, “Do whatever he tells you.” They are simple words but the means by which we gain salvation, fulfil our vocation, are animated in the Spirit, encounter the wonder of his glory, and glimpse the heavenly banquet of the Kingdom.

Tomorrow is the feast of Pentecost or Whit Sunday, the “Birthday of the Church,” and Mass will be celebrated according to Divine Worship at 11:30am at Christ the King Church Langney. We’d love to see you! The pew sheet is available at the link below.
