The Holy See announced the death of Pope Benedict during the morning of 31 December 2022.
Christ has shown us the way. True divine love lies in the Way of the Cross. Divine wisdom reveals the paradox that to live we must die, to be first we must be last and servant of all. To obtain heaven we have to let go of all earthly possessions and glory.
Humility in coming into the presence of God allows us to be open to receive the gift of the body, soul and divinity of Christ in the sacrament of the Mass. This is our encounter with the living God, who calls us to life that we might be prepared to enter into the fullness of the heavenly Jerusalem, prepared for us since the foundation of the world.
