Today we recall and celebrate that historical moment when the power of the Holy Ghost was first poured into the Church.
A community in Christ seeking and sharing transforming grace, reconciling love and compassionate hope
Today we recall and celebrate that historical moment when the power of the Holy Ghost was first poured into the Church.
We all hear the name of ‘Pentecost’, and we know that it is one of the major feasts of the Church’s year, but it is worth pausing to reflect a little more deeply on it…
Yet if one suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but under that name let him glorify God.
The inability for us to live out the sacramental life as a Catholic is a real trial but also an opportunity to bear witness to the Lord. In this mini-martyrdom, are we ready to act and speak in a way that gives a reason for the hope that is in us?
Only if we are able to stand upon this living stone will we be able to emerge from this present crisis positively, revealing more clearly that we are a chosen race, royal priesthood, God’s own people and where our true joy will be found.
It is in the light of the profound hope of the resurrection that Peter has been encouraging the faithful to build their lives.
