Of your charity pray for the happy repose of the soul of Fr John Hunwicke, Priest of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, who died on Tuesday 30 April.
For thirty years he taught Latin at Lancing College. His last post as an Anglican was to the ancient church of St Thomas the Martyr, near the railway station in Oxford. Following his ordination in 2012 he was associated with the Oxford Ordinariate Mission.
He leaves a wife, children, and grandchildren.

Following the announcement that the Holy Father FRANCIS has accepted the resignation of the Right Reverend Keith Newton PA as Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham (“the Ordinariate”), and appointed the Very Reverend David Arthur Waller as Bishop Ordinary, the Governing Council of the Ordinariate met on Tuesday 30th April 2024 and elected the said Mgr Keith Newton as Administrator of the Ordinariate. Having made the Profession of Faith, Mgr Keith Newton will exercise the rights and duties of this office according to the norms of canon law until the new bishop takes possession of the Ordinariate. As the offices of vicar general and vicars cease sede vacante, in the interests of continuity in administration during the vacancy, former vicarious responsibilities will be fulfilled by the appointment of deputies
by the Administrator.
