Quick donate via CAF: click here

The Ordinariate has now made its own arrangements for accepting donations, both with its own bank and with the assistance of the Charities Aid Foundation.

Don’t forget that the Ordinariate groups are being generously accommodated by Catholic churches. Each of them needs support too, at least to help cover their costs in doing that. One way of doing that is to contribute to the offertory; do use a Gift Aid envelope or sign a declaration. In our case, we make regular contributions both financially and in kind to Christ the King Church.

The paper way

Fill in

and send them both off to the Treasurer of the Eastbourne Group: Amanda Rock, PO Box 3223, Eastbourne BN21 9RS.

For one-off donations, simply replace the Standing Order form with a cheque made payable to The Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. Write the name of the group on the back of the cheque.

The internet way

Fill in a Gift Aid Declaration, if you are eligible and you haven’t already done that for the Ordinariate. Send it to the Treasurer of the Eastbourne Group: Amanda Rock, PO Box 3223, Eastbourne BN21 9RS. HM Revenue & Customs need this to be paper, there’s no internet equivalent.

Set up a standing order through your internet banking service, using sort code 40-04-09 and account 82035758. Use a payment reference of your name (up to a maximum of 18 characters).

Email us to let us know of your donation and its payment reference. Include as much information as possible about your donations.

You can make one-off donations via your bank’s internet service too, or you can use the facilities offered by the Charities Aid Foundation. You don’t have to have a CAF account, but they need some details in order to verify the card transaction, and in order to identify the donation for Gift Aid purposes if that’s relevant. We don’t get your address (physical or email) unless you want us to contact you with information. If you use CAF, your donation is held by the central Ordinariate on our behalf until they transfer it to our bank account.

The plastic way

Where it’s necessary to so do, we’re able to accept card payments in person, using PayPal as an intermediary, issuing receipts either on paper or electronically. If you can Gift Aid your donations, then please fill in and send us a Gift Aid Declaration. To contribute to the offertory at services using a card, it’s best to scan the QR code on the service leaflet with your smartphone and use CAF’s provision, as in the paragraph above this one.

The cash way

It’s still possible to donate using cash at services, but you need to use an Ordinariate envelope to keep it separate from donations to the parish. If you are eligible and have filled in a Gift Aid Declaration, we can reclaim tax on your donation. Even without a declaration, the Government allows us to access the Gift Aid scheme if denominations of notes and coins are no more than £20.

Supporting in your will

Do consider whether any existing clause supporting the Church of England should be revised.

The Ordinariate has published sample forms of words for bequests, which need to be included in the body of a will or a codicil in order to be acceptable.
